The Steamer Localizer is used to search for island with specific points of interest, such as biomes, resources, villages, special structures or bosses. To use it, place the Localizer, connect it to a power source such as Enegy Generator and activate it. Then insert a Localizer Cassette containing the target you want to find. These cessettes can mainly be purchased from Navigator.
Once powered and loaded with cassette, the Localizer begins rotating as it scans nearby islands. If no matching target is within range, it will continue searching and you may need to travel to other regions. When a matching island enters its range, the Localizer will notify you that the target has been found, turn toward it and continuously indicate its direction. The Steamer Localizer doesn’t point to the exact location of the target but instead guides you to the island where it can be found.
While controlling your Flying Ship from the Cockpit, the target will also appear as a marker. The Localizer will emit sound signals that become more frequent as you get closer to the destination. Once you reach the target area, it will switch to a “You Are Here” state, point downward and display a green effect around its indicator.

You can obtain the Steamer Localizer by scanning a damaged one found on the starting island or on abandoned ships across the world.
Another way to acquire the localizer is to find a special merchant known as the Navigator. This merchant appears in the village and on the Rotten Islands within a specific structure.
You can purchase cassettes for your localizer from the Navigator.
To make the localizer work, you must connect it to a generator and insert a cassette.
